TEACHING BIOGRAPHY:
Jeanette Stenson, with fifteen years of cello teaching experience, brings a focus to creating an environment that develops high sensibilities in her students. She uses a curriculum with individualized instruction addressing strong technique, repertoire, and musicality. In the New York City area, she is Suzuki faculty at Silver Music. As a teaching artist, Ms. Stenson has presented at The Children’s Storefront, Mott Hall II, and Frank Sinatra High School for the Arts among others. She has been an adjudicator for NYSSMA, a state-wide competition, and is experienced with students working towards competitions. Ms. Stenson has coaching experience with the Osseo Senior High Symphony Orchestra, District 279 Summer Music Camp, and The School for Strings. She maintained a private teaching studio at Anderson Music Academy while she was residing in Minnesota and now teaches Suzuki cello lessons at the 10,000 Times Studio in New York City. She completed her Suzuki Long-Term Teacher Training Certification at The School for Strings with Pamela Devenport. Ms. Stenson holds a Master of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music in Orchestral Performance and a Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance from the University of Minnesota.
